May’s Friendly Pet of the Month

Check Out This Jet-Settin’ Pet!

For May’s Friendly Pet of the Month, we’re celebrating Mr. Peanut, a little chihuahua from Manteo! As the story goes, Nut was dumped at a shelter where a rescue group found him and fixed him up. It was then, in May of 2019, that his furever family came along and fell in love with this adorable and sweet senior rescue.

The Grand Life

Now, at nearly 13 years old, Peanut is living the grand life! From visiting the sunny beaches of Mexico to the snowy slopes of Utah, Nut is paws-down the most well-traveled pup we know! Not only are his golden years full of adventure but they are packed with well-deserved luxury. He is pampered in the hotels he visits and a favorite on the flights he takes. He once had a flight attendant give him a cozy blanket to take home!

Nut’s Home-Base

When he’s not globetrotting around the world, Peanut is living his best life right here at home on OBX. Sleeping, snuggling, and eating (pizza crust) are his hobbies. He hates getting up in the morning! But when he does, Nut loves his beach walks — both oceanside and soundside. He enjoys swimming in the pool (with his parents holding on) and going to all the pet-friendly restaurants too. One can only hope to be as active as Mr. Peanut at that age!
