Here at Twiddy, we have found that a lot of our guests and returning guests are coffee lovers. So when you are here on the OBX during the hottest of days or the coldest, we are sure that you will find your favorite coffee shop from our favorites that are listed on this post. Whether you are looking for a cozy study space, a new hangout spot for the family and yourself or a relaxing place to kick back, the OBX has a diverse culture of coffee shops that will surpass your expectations. But if you are not the biggest fan of coffee, rest assured- several of these shops offer other beverages, snacks, and more! Here are some of our favorite spots!

Nags Head

Nags Head is home to a lot of history for the OBX. Waveriders Coffee Deli & Pub is one of our favorites to visit when we are in Nags Head. With it’s cozy interior and modern menu items, Waveriders is surely a true gem here on the OBX. Serving different roasts of coffee, sandwiches, smoothies, beer and wine, there is something for everyone here at Waveriders! Their coffee drinks consists of lattes, brewed coffee, and much more!

Morning View Coffee features a drink of the month, making it a must-try! Whether you’re having a relaxing day or plan to be active, You can’t miss Morning View.

Ashley's Espresso Parlour

Kill Devil Hills

Located in the town of Kill Devil Hills, Ashley’s Espresso Parlour is a bright and local coffee shop with lots of yummy coffee roasts, drinks, and pastries! Inside, you will be surrounded by vibrant colors from the artwork hanging on the walls that are created by local artists. Fun and comforting decor makes Ashley’s Espresso Parlour a great place to relax and hangout with friends and family. The menu of coffee drinks range from speciality coffee drinks to brewed coffee. Ashley’s has their own coffee roasting headquarters right in the shop as well!

Our favorite coffee drink: Iced Mocha- espresso, mocha sauce, milk and ice, then topped with sweetened whipped cream.

Yummy West Third specialty espresso drink at Front Porch Cafe.

Another local favorite of ours in the town of Kill Devil Hills is Front Porch Cafe! Front Porch Cafe has four different locations; a shop in Manteo, Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk. They roast their own whole bean coffees on the premises, you can smell the deliciousness all the way on the highway out front of the shops! Front Porch Cafe has brewed coffee, specialty drinks or lattes, and pastries!

Our favorite coffee drink from Front Porch Cafe: The West Third- espresso, steamed milk, mocha sauce, caramel and hazelnut syrups, fresh chocolate whipped cream.

Southern Shores

Shore Coffee Roasters offers the perfect blend of tranquility and modern coastal charms. They offer coffee and other refreshing summer drinks that create the ultimate vacation vibe that is freshly roasted in-house. Shore Coffee Roasters is curated for relaxation and conversation with family and friends.  

Our favorite coffee drink from Shore Coffee Roasters: Sea Salt Mocha with housemade chocolate sauce, espresso, layered milk, and Hatteras Saltworks Sea Salt

Duck

Venturing up to the town of Duck, there are many sightseeing opportunities with great views. At the Duck Waterfront Shops, there is another favorite coffee shop of ours, Duck Cottage Coffee & Books. Duck Cottage has amazing coffee drinks, teas, pastries, and doubles as a cute bookstore! While waiting for your delicious drink to be made, walk around the shop and find a book that suits you!

Our favorite coffee drink: The Mucky Duck- chocolate, caramel, hazelnut syrups with espresso & steamed milk, topped with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and caramel

Corolla

The Kind Cup is located in quaint Corolla Village. This small batch coffee roaster has several specialty espresso drinks, coffee by the pound, and a variety of baked goods. In addition to coffee, The Kind Cup is also an artist cooperative, where you can find art and unique souvenirs handmade by OBX locals. This coffee shop is definitely a place to stop by during your vacation!

Our favorite coffee drink: A Nitro Cold Brew to put a little zip into your day

Our last stop is Banana Dog Cafe that all pet-lovers will enjoy, especially being so close to the 4×4. Bring your furry friends to Banana Dog’s mobile coffee shop to enjoy their pet inspired drinks and gifts to kick off your day.

Our favorite drink: The Dixie Girl with banana milk, toffee syrup, and cinnamon for a burst of energy
