A Safely Celebrated OBX 4th of July

A Safely Celebrated OBX 4th of July is the perfect way to start your weekend! Head to the beach and fire up the barbeque for the perfect summer holiday!

One of the best days of the summer is rapidly approaching, the 4th of July! Although this year we celebrate freedom with most of us still under lockdown, we’ve come up with a few ways you can safely celebrate! Enjoy your socially responsible 4th of July with our guide to a safely celebrated OBX 4th of July!

Embrace a beautiful OBX sunrise

Start your day off bright and early with one of our striking Outer Banks sunrises. Grab your morning cup of joe and let the bright, beautiful colors remind you why we love the Outer Banks and the United States so much!

Soak up the sun with a beach day

With over 100 miles of shoreline, a beach day is a perfect way to get outside and social distance! Open your umbrella and spray your sunscreen, get ready for a beautiful OBX beach day! Check out our blog post on the Best Beaches on the Outer Banks of NC for some local insight!

Have a backyard barbeque

Spend the day basking in the sun and bonding with your family with a backyard barbeque! Whether you’re craving some fresh Outer Banks seafood or classic burgers and hot dogs, Butcher Block in Corolla can provide you with all your barbeque necessities!

Twiddy Twister

Sip on an OBX inspired cocktail

If you’re more of a night owl than an early bird, make yourself one of our OBX inspired cocktails! Throw a twist on your Twiddy Tornado and add grenadine. Pour the grenadine in a tall glass, add ice, and then pour the pre-shaken Twiddy Tornado into the glass over a spoon for a layered look!

“Ooh” and “ahh” at a local fireworks show this OBX 4th of July

Although many firework shows have been postponed, the show scheduled in Corolla is still on! We highly recommend maintaining all social distancing guidelines laid out by health authorities, however, these soundside fireworks can be seen from many locations around Corolla! These fireworks will take place at the Historic Corolla Park (The Whalehead Club).
