On the Outer Banks, we take pride in our environment, hard work, and supporting local businesses and artisans. Which is why we want to spotlight a few of the amazing local art shops in the OBX community. Whether you’re looking for a unique piece of Outer Banks jewelry or a gorgeous coastal painting, an OBX artisan has a creation waiting for you. There are art shops located throughout the Outer Banks coast. Each local OBX art shop is unique, and we have details on a few of our favorites.
Corolla Village Market
Location: 1129 Corolla Village Road, Corolla, NC 27927
Hours: June through September: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday, closed on Sunday
October through December and April through May: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Wednesday through Friday, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm Saturday, closed Sunday through Tuesday

Why We Love It: Neighboring Twiddy’s Corolla Office, you’ll find the Corolla Village Market in Historic Corolla Village. Built in the 1900’s, this restored home creates a wonderful backdrop for the local artists to display their work. Since Corolla Village Market is a Co-Op art gallery, one of the artists will be working in the shop every time you visit. We love being able to meet and get to know the artists who create all of these beautiful paintings, photographs, jewelry and more. Even one of our very own staff members is among the 30 local artists!

Muse Originals OBX
Location: 4622 N. Virginia Dare Trail, Kitty Hawk, NC 27949

Why We Love It: Nestled between Art’s Place and the beach, you can’t miss Muse Originals OBX when driving down Highway 12. With over 75 local artists’ work available, there really is something for everyone. The back of the gallery even features an OBX local artist’s glass blowing studio.
KDH Cooperative Gallery & Studios
Location: 502 South Croatan Highway, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948
Hours: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm every day

Why We Love It: Located at MP 8.5 in Kill Devil Hills, the KDH Cooperative Gallery & Studios showcases the art of over 40 local artists who all run the gallery together. From working the front desk to hanging artwork, the members of this “Co-Op” work together to create a space that welcomes visitors of all ages to enjoy beautiful and unique local art. They even have a studio upstairs and offer art classes!

The Gypsy’s Cupboard

Why We Love It: Located in the historic Downtown Manteo area, The Gypsy’s Cupboard features local artists and their creations. From paintings to handmade jewelry to rare products. The magic of the artisans’ hard work shines throughout in this modern shop.
Restyle Market
Location: Nags Head, North Carolina
Hours: 11:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday- Saturday

Why We Love It: Restyle Market is a 3,000 square foot multi-vendor shop. They have it all! Vintage decor, local art, unique apparel, and one of a kind dog supplies. A one-of-a-kind shop, for sure!
