Host your own family Olympics!

Get into the Olympic spirit with family Olympic games. Here’s how to play!

1. Pair up in twos or threes! Brainstorm your team name after a country of your choice.

2. Choose 5-10 games to play.  Below, we listed some of our favorite games.

3. Determine your leader. It is best to have one family member as the leader to direct the games and the score

4.  Keep track of the score. Each game will be worth one point. At the end, the team with the most points will be declared the gold medalist while teams with the second and third highest points will be declared the silver and gold medalists. In the event of a tiebreaker, teams will choose one game of their choice. The team that wins is declared the winner.

5. Play the games and have fun! We recommend keeping time flexible and making it relaxing.

6. Calculate the score and declare the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medalist! The winning medalists get bragging rights!

The first team with no remaining cups wins.

Spoons

  • What you need: A deck of cards and spoons
  • How to play: One player from each team will sit in a circle. Four cards will be dealt to each player and spoons will be in the center. The amount of spoons is one less than the amount of players. For example, if you have 10 players, 9 spoons will be in the middle. You will pass one card clockwise. Players can decide to keep or discard the cards that are passed. The goal is to make four of a kind. When a player has four of a kind, they will grab a spoon. The player who does not get a spoon is eliminated.
