Thanksgiving Day in 2025 marks the return of the beloved Turkey Trot 5K in Duck, NC. Start your day with a 3.1-mile run through charming Duck Village before gathering with family for your Thanksgiving feast. Twiddy & Company is proud to sponsor the Turkey Trot 5K in 2025, in partnership with First Flight Track Club, The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, Outer Banks Community Foundation, and the Town of Duck. The Course

This year’s Turkey Trot 5K course starts and finishes on Christopher Drive, adjacent to Scarborough Faire Shopping Village. From the starting line, the course runs east through the Ocean Dunes community before looping around and through the Sea Pines neighborhood. The course continues north along Duck Road to the Schooner Ridge community. After meandering through Schooner Ridge, the course heads south on Duck Road to the finish line on Christopher Drive.

How to Register for the Duck Turkey Trot 5K

The race is open to participants of all ages. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded to top finishers as well as the best holiday-themed attire. Registration information can be found on First Flight Track Club’s website, and runners can register here. Registration opens on September 1st. It is recommended to register early, as entries for this race have traditionally sold out very quickly.

The race packet pickup party will be at Swells’a Brewing Duck Dive Bar the evening before the race. On race day, the afterparty will be at Treehouse Cafe & Coffee in Scarborough Faire.
