“Every sunset brings the promise of a new dawn.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
At Twiddy & Company, most of our employees are lucky to call the Outer Banks home. We take pride in our local roots and hope that our knowledge of our towns provides a bit of helpful advice for you. If you talk to anyone living on the Outer Banks, they will tell you that the best time of the year on the beach is in the fall. Things start to quiet down, the weather is ideal for spending time outside, and the Outer Banks somehow continues to get more beautiful. One of our favorite things about living on the Outer Banks is the incredible sunsets we witness almost every evening.
Most of us could pick up our phones and scroll through countless photos of the sun tucking itself away for the night. We have found peace in the idea that there is a sight of beauty at the end of every day. As the sun sets on another day, we feel thankful to live in a unique place.
While we chase sunsets to find the perfect place to see the show in the sky, we wanted to share some of our favorites from this fall from the perspective of our team. Some of us walk outside onto our deck to see these iconic sunsets, and some of us walk down the street on Bay Drive in Kill Devil Hills to take in the view. We might take a trip to the Duck Boardwalk or Whalehead in Corolla to catch a glimpse of the best show on earth. Many times, the sky over the ocean is painted beautiful colors as the sun sets on the sound.
