As a member of the Outer Banks community since 1978, Twiddy & Company has seen first-hand the importance of giving back locally. Here are some of the organizations we support and ways that you can help too. Outer Banks Hospital OBX has a year-round population of 35,000 that grows to about 250,000 in the summer. As a result, Outer Banks Hospital was designed to accommodate our unique community. Even amidst the uncertainty of these past two years, Outer Banks Hospital has gone above and beyond to meet our health needs. The Gardens opened in 1960 with a goal to illustrate the kind of garden a colonist might have built had the colonization on Roanoke Island succeeded. Today, The Elizabethan Gardens serves as a permanent memorial to Sir Walter Raleigh’s lost colonists and acts as a gateway to nature and history through educational experiences.
