Creative Eats Paired with Tasty Wines
Participating restaurants will each prepare a special duck dish and serve it with an accompanying wine during the event. Last year’s Duck & Wine Festival featured many creative delicacies, like duck chili, Indian curry duck leg, duck wellington, and crispy duck confit potstickers. The duck dish from The Saltbox Cafe was the winner of the 2019 People’s Choice Award with their duck mojo with plantains, pickled red onion corn salsa, avocado crema, and corn tortillas. The Saltbox Cafe is located in Colington, a charming soundside community in Kill Devil Hills.
Wines will be available for purchase at a discounted rate throughout the event at Coastal Cantina throughout the entire weekend. Coastal Cantina will donate $1 per bottle sold to the Dare-Currituck Foundation. Attendees are invited to vote for their favorite dish for the People’s Choice Award. Awards are presented at the event, beginning at 2:45 pm.
